On Thursday, March 22nd, we're so excited to host another edition of Unplugged on the Front Porch. This time, our listening room will feature TWO local acts: The Foundries and Saint Clair. Best of all, all proceeds will go to the outreach program HOME COOKED FRIDAYS, a community outreach program that uses the universal language of food to help address some of the social, health, & developmental issues that affect our adolescents and adults. The Foundries were formed in 2012 through the melding of three veterans of the NYC band Salazar, a Southern Appalachian guitarist, and a stalwart Austin bassist whose past includes English Teeth and Christopher Douthitt & the Glyphs. Adding horn and pedal steel magicians to the mix, the collective issued its debut album in 2014, Cabin Backer Queen. The Foundries are celebrating the completion of their second record, Unfurled, which they will perform on its release date at the Front Porch.
Jesse Greendyk - vocals/guitar

Saint Clair is the solo project of songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Mike St.Clair. His music blends ambient sonic textures with more traditional horns and guitars to serve his introspective folk tinged songs. Most often performing as a solo artist, his live show incorporates loops, foot controlled bass pads, synths, horns, guitars and percussion to create organic arrangements of lyrically driven songs. Mike has toured and recorded widely with bands such as Okkervil River, Polyphonic Spree, and What Made Milwaukee Famous. He is close to finishing his first EP and you can hear the first single, You Are Not Alone, at www.saintclairmusic.com
About Unplugged on The Front Porch
The mission statement for Unplugged on the Front Porch
, a quarterly nonprofit music series in downtown Austin, is two-fold. On one hand, we want to offer an intimate listening room for Austin’s music appreciators to meet and engage with our city’s troubadours and virtuosos. On the other, we insist on providing the artists who perform with a living wage
in the spirit of patronism. Our desire here is that everybody wins. Past artists for Unplugged include Israel Nash, Mother Falcon, Ray Benson, Sam Baker, Jimmy LaFave, Sara Hickman, Erin Ivey, Matt the Electrician, and many more.
Free parking will be available on a first come, first serve basis in the parking lot directly adjacent to All Saints' Episcopal Church.
Once the church lot fills up, overflow parking will be available in the parking garage across the street, directly East of the church campus. If you must park in the garage, bring in your ticket! We will validate it for a discounted rate.
The suggested donation for this event is $15 per person. Kids 15 and under are admitted for free, and nobody is turned away for not being able to pay. However, those that are able to donate both help pay production costs for the evening and help donate to our evening's cause, Home Cooked Fridays.
