While she had planned to join us as the headliner of our benefit concert for Americans United in January, Eliza Gilkyson came down ill for that occasion. We're delighted that she has scheduled this make-up performance on our makeshift stage in the gorgeous sanctuary at All Saints' Episcopal Church. We hope you'll join us in our listening room for this one: you'll be glad you did.

Eliza Gilkyson is a 2-time Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and activist who has become one of the most respected musicians in Folk, Roots and  Americana circles. She has appeared on NPR, Austin City Limits,  Mountain Stage, etown, Sirius/XM, Air America Radio and has toured worldwide as a solo artist and in support of Richard Thompson, Patty Griffin, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Dan Fogelberg. Her songs have been covered by Joan Baez, Bob Geldof, Tom Rush and Rosanne Cash and have appeared in films, PBS specials and on prime-time TV. This will be her second appearance at Unplugged on The Front Porch. She has been inducted into the Austin Music Hall of Fame and recognized with countless Austin Music and Folk Alliance awards. An strong voice in both the Austin music and political communities, Eliza actively supports Save Our Springs, and is a co-founder of 5604 Manor,  an Austin-based resource center that promotes political activism and community involvement around issues of race, patriarchy and global injustice.

About Unplugged on The Front Porch

Overview
The mission statement for Unplugged on the Front Porch, a quarterly nonprofit music series in downtown Austin, is two-fold. On one hand, we want to offer an intimate listening room for Austin’s music appreciators to meet and engage with our city’s troubadours and virtuosos. On the other, we insist on providing the artists who perform with a living wage in the spirit of patronism. Our desire here is that everybody wins. Past artists for Unplugged include Israel Nash, Mother Falcon, Ray Benson, Slaid Cleaves, Sam Baker, Erin Ivey, Matt the Electrician, Danny Schmidt, Carrie Elkin, and many more.

Parking
Free parking will be available on a first come, first serve basis in the parking lot directly adjacent to All Saints' Episcopal Church. Once the church lot fills up, overflow parking will be available in the parking garage across the street, directly East of the church campus. If you must park in the garage, bring in your ticket! We will validate it for a discounted rate of only $2.

Donations
The suggested donation for this event is $20 per person. Kids 15 and under are admitted for free, and nobody is turned away for not being able to pay.
